(received; accepted) PACS. 32.80Rm – Multiphoton ionization and excitation to highly excited states (e.g., Rydberg states). PACS. 05.45+b – Theory and models of chaotic systems. PACS. 42.50Hz – Strongfield excitation of optical transitions in quantum systems; multiphoton processes; dynamic Stark shift. Abstract. – We identify a fundamental structure in the spectrum of microwave driven alkali Rydberg states, which highlights the remnants of the Coulomb symmetry in the presence of a nonhydrogenic core. Coreinduced corrections with respect to the hydrogen spectrum can be accounted for by a perturbative approach. Introduction. – The excitation and subsequent ionization of Rydberg states of atomic hydrogen by microwave fields is one of the most prominent examples of the manifestation of classically nonlinear dynamics in a realistic physical system [1]. Given a driving field frequency comparable to the classical Kepler frequency of the unperturbed Rydberg electron, the electron’s classical trajectory goes chaotic for sufficiently large driving field amplitudes

The mRNA level of the aconitase gene acn of Corynebacterium glutamicum is reduced under iron limitation. Here we show that an AraCtype regulator, termed RipA for “regulator of iron proteins A, ” is involved in this type of regulation. A C. glutamicum ripA mutant has a 2fold higher aconitase activity than the wild type under iron limitation, but not under iron excess. Comparison of the mRNA profiles of theripAmutant and the wild type revealed that the acnmRNA level was increased in the ripAmutant under iron limitation, but not under iron excess, indicating a repressor function of RipA. Besides acn, some other genes showed increased mRNA levels in the ripAmutant under iron starvation (i.e. those encoding succinate dehydrogenase (sdhCAB), nitrate/nitrite transporter and nitrate reductase (narKGHJI), isopropylmalate dehydratase (leuCD), catechol 1,2dioxygenase (catA), and phosphotransacetylase (pta)). Most of these proteins contain iron. Purified

We show that for every smooth projective surface X and every $n\ge 2$ the pushforward along the diagonal embedding gives a $P^{n1}$functor into the $S_n$equivariant derived category of X^n. Using the BridgelandKingReidHaiman equivalence this yields a new autoequivalence of the derived category of the Hilbert scheme of n points on X. In the case that the canonical bundle of X is trivial and n=2 this autoequivalence coincides with the known EZspherical twist induced by the boundary of the Hilbert scheme. We also generalise the 16 spherical objects on the Kummer surface given by the exceptional curves to n^4 orthogonal $P^{n1}$Objects on the generalised Kummer variety. ; Comment: Mistakes in Lemma 3.3, Prop. 4.4, and Remark 4.7 corrected. The changes do not affect the main results

For every smooth quasiprojective surface X we construct a series of P^{n1}functors H_{l,n}: D(X x X^[l]) > D(X^[n+l]) between the derived categories of the Hilbert schemes of points for n>max{l,1} using the derived McKay correspondence. They can be considered as analogues of the Nakajima operators. The functors also restrict to P^{n1}functors on the generalised Kummer varieties. We also study the induced autoequivalences and obtain, for example, a universal braid relation in the groups of derived autoequivalences of Hilbert squares of K3 surfaces and Kummer fourfolds.

We give formulas for the extension groups between tautological sheaves and more general between tautological objects twisted by a determinant line bundle on the Hilbert scheme of points on a smooth quasiprojective surface. We do this using L. Scala's results about the image of tautological sheaves under the BridgelandKingReid equivalence. We also compute the Yoneda products in terms of these formulas. ; Comment: Revised version

We give a description of the image of tensor products of tautological bundles on Hilbert schemes of points on surfaces under the BridgelandKingReidHaiman equivalence. Using this, some new formulas for cohomological invariants of these bundles are obtained. In particular, we give formulas for the Euler characteristic of arbitrary tensor products on the Hilbert scheme of two points and of triple tensor products in general.

Description:
For every smooth projective variety, we construct an action of the Heisenberg algebra on the direct sum of the Grothendieck groups of all the symmetric quotient stacks which contains the Fock space as a subrepresentation.
